Origins and Definition of Trim CBD

The term "Trim" comes from the English verb "to trim," which means to cut. In the cannabis industry, it refers to all the plant material removed from the main buds during the post-harvest trimming process.

For a long time, these trimmings were considered a byproduct. With the growing popularity of CBD and the recognition of their cannabinoid content, trimmings have gained legitimacy. Growers have realized that these trimmings contain enough trichomes and active compounds to justify selling them.

Trim consists of resinous leaves that are close to the flowers, loose pistils, and small buds that are too fragile to be sold as whole buds. Our Trim is sourced from CBD hemp plants grown exclusively in greenhouses in Italy, in facilities that combine climate control with natural sunlight. This production method allows for precise control of humidity, temperature, and ventilation, while preserving the plants’ natural growth cycles.

Italy’s Mediterranean climate promotes the development of aromatic terpenes and cannabinoids. The selected strains comply with European regulations, with THC levels kept below 0.3%. The plants are grown in a nutrient-rich substrate, free of pesticides and synthetic chemicals.

After being harvested by hand, the flowers are hung in well-ventilated areas to dry slowly, preserving the trichomes. Once dried, they undergo a trimming process in which each bud is carefully stripped by hand. The collected resinous leaves, pistils, and micro-buds are sorted to remove stems and unwanted parts, retaining only the resin-rich fragments.
