Distillate or isolate? Now that you think about it, you're not sure what the difference is? Don't worry, I'll take it all back here. While these two forms of CBD concentrate share some commonalities, they are fundamentally different. Mama will help you make your choice.

To remember

  • CBD distillate and CBD isolate are two forms of CBD concentrate, which have some points in common but, above all, some differences.
  • Their appearance and texture make them versatile.
  • They differ in terms of composition, CBD content, effects and visual appearance.

Reminder: what is CBD distillate?

CBD distillate belongs to the large family of CBD concentrates. As the word "concentrate" implies, CBD distillate is in fact a purified form of cannabidiol. It is obtained after a long process of technical extraction from hemp flowers.

What characterizes CBD distillate, as you may have guessed, is its very high CBD content (90%). A product of excellence, it is often presented as a refined extract of high-quality hemp sought after by more experienced CBD consumers.

CBD distillate conceals a true synergy of plant compounds, based on all the cannabinoids and terpenes naturally present in hemp. This entourage effect offers a balanced and effective vaping experience. In fact, it's for its effectiveness that the full spectrum 90% CBD distillate is sought after by consumers.

Discerning consumers praise its purity, achieved through a unique extraction method and distillation stage, and its exceptional concentration. Its immediate effects, thanks in particular to its very high CBD content, are also praised by distillate enthusiasts.

What is CBD isolate?

CBD isolate crystals are the purest form of cannabidiol on the market today. Isolate verges on the ultra-pure!

A technologically advanced hemp extraction technique is used to produce CBD isolate. Its CBD content is 99.8%. For 0% THC, zero terpenes, zero flavonoids and no other cannabinoids.

As you can see, this is a very, very pure product, devoid of solvents and pesticides. That's why it's so sought-after by consumers in search of THC-free potency.

When you look at isolate crystals, you may find they look like a white crystalline powder. They're odorless and tasteless, which is pretty handy if you're not a fan of hemp's natural aroma, which can sometimes be confusing.

CBD isolate is easy to dose, and like distillate, lends itself to a wide range of uses. In fact, you can dose precisely what you want to consume. In short, it's the ideal product for powerful, targeted action.

CBD distillate vs. CBD isolate: what are the differences?

While there are certain similarities between the two, there are significant differences between the two forms of CBD concentrate.

A visual difference is immediately apparent. Isolate appears as a fine white powder, or crystals, whereas distillate is more like a resin, with the consistency of honey.

As far as composition is concerned, I'd remind you that distillate contains other cannabinoids (I mentioned its entourage effect in particular) including THC, but always within the European legal framework. Unlike isolate, which contains only cannabidiol , pure and simple.

Their CBD content also differs: isolates contain up to 99% CBD, while distillates contain around 80-90%.

In terms of effects, I also notice a few dissimilarities. The distillate offers the effects of hemp's cannabinoids, including CBD, at the heart of the synergy released by the entourage effect. The isolate provides access to CBD's targeted potential benefits, in a concentrated form.

So it all depends on what you're looking for. An optimized, targeted, discreet and powerful experience, but without THC? Isolate will probably suit you. Prefer something more nuanced, more complete thanks to the entourage effect? Opt for distillate.

In all cases, I recommend that you turn to a quality concentrate tested in an independent laboratory and compliant with European legislation.
